How Same-Day Shipping Works

Our same-day shipping commitment applies to in-stock orders placed before 4 p.m. ET. When those conditions are met, the order ships the same business day.

Orders placed after 4 p.m. ET fall outside the same-day shipping cutoff. The cutoff is based on Eastern Time, so customers in other time zones should keep that in mind when placing a time-sensitive order.

Shipping Date vs. Delivery Date

Shipping date and delivery date are two different things. When we say an eligible order ships the same business day, we mean the order leaves the Total Light fulfillment process that day. It does not mean the package will arrive at its destination that same day.

After the shipment is processed, delivery timing depends on the destination, the carrier service associated with the shipment, and current carrier conditions. Because those factors occur after the order leaves our warehouse, the same-day shipping commitment should not be interpreted as a guaranteed delivery date.

Tracking Your Order

Tracking information is provided once your shipment has been processed. After tracking becomes available, use the carrier tracking information provided with your order update to follow the shipment and view the carrier's latest delivery status.

If the carrier changes an estimated arrival after the package is in transit, the carrier's tracking information will provide the most current shipment status.

Planning for a Time-Sensitive Project

If you are ordering for an installation date or another time-sensitive project, plan around both parts of the shipping process: warehouse processing time and carrier transit time. Same-day shipping helps reduce the time an eligible in-stock order spends waiting to leave our warehouse, but carrier transit still begins after that point.

For the best planning, place the order before the 4 p.m. ET cutoff when the items are in stock and allow appropriate time for delivery to your destination.
